Description
Lot #50 - The engine is in great condition, and the original windshield cleaner solution bag is still in place, as are the original valve lifter covers and original vacuum brake system. There are only 38,000 original miles on this car. 1955 was a great year to be shopping for your first car. Ford, whose overhead valve V8 was in its second year, sported many advanced styling themes with a deliberately strong association to the new Thunderbird. The '55 Ford was advertised as a car with the feeling of motion built into the basic shape of the car itself. With imaginative styling, chrome and stainless steel, fresh new colors, and modern interiors, 1955 would be the first year of the Crown Victoria, part of the Ford Fairlaine range of products, and was produced at Ford's plant in Dallas, Texas. The name Crown Victoria is derived from the stainless band that crowns the roofline. The engine is a 272cid V8 that develops 162hp and has a top speed of 100mph. This Crown Victoria has been garaged and cared for meticulously by the original owner until his death several years ago. The car has remained in his son's collection since then. The car is in near-mint condition, as are all of the components of the Continental Kit and the original spare tire that came with the car in 1955. The original outside mount forced air conditioner unit which mounts on the passenger side window is included. Original owner was a member of the Crown Victoria Association, and kept all of the monthly newsletters. 10-20 years of the Associations newsletters kept in binders are included with the sale.
