Lot #1048 - This 1935 Ford landmark convertible restored in 2011 was inspired by Jack Calori's 36 Street & Lakes Coupe. It was originally built in 1981 by Posies to promote their Hot Rod business and was featured in every major Hot Rod magazine of that era. The steel body, except rear fenders, has been extensively modified to reflect the best of the late 40s/early 50s Hot Rod culture. Features include a one piece hood with non-louvered sides, molded head lights, DeSoto bumpers, LaSalle grille, shaved trunk with a Continental Kit, '40 Ford NOS skirts and extended tail light standards to give it that low long profile. The windscreen has been chopped 3 1/2" and the car includes a tonneau cover and custom Carson style removable top. It is finished with a period correct '40 Ford burgundy base coat/clear coat. It is powered by a 350/330hp engine with aluminum heads and intake with 3x2 carburetors. It breathes through B&B headers, 2" stainless exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. The 350 Hydromatic 3-speed with Locker shifter connects to a 3.50 ratio transaxle. Adjustable coilover shocks and Kugel Komponent disc brakes tie together the IFS. The chassis has been strengthened and channeled and includes Posie's super slide rear springs and air shocks. The interior is finished in a two tone tuck and roll with a period correct '40 Ford wheel and truck dash, and a Line Works steering column. A restored gauge cluster by Classic Instruments and an extensive hidden audio system with Bluetooth technology maintains the period correct look. This classic is a timepiece that has been restored correctly to that post-war Hot Rod craze and drives as good as it looks.
