Description
Lot #661 - It's hard to know where to start with a car of this caliber. This '69 Camaro carries an authentic and correct aluminum 427cid that is motor #16 in the GM continuation series. This particular Camaro is extremely special, so let's start with the exceptional paint and body work. It is Garnet Red and the finished is nothing short of spectacular. It is obvious that no corners were cut and that long hours were spent to make this car absolute show quality in every way. Panel gaps are exact and alignment is great. The finish has been color sanded and buffed beyond anyone's expectations. Chrome and trim is concours quality, the glass is all new and the stainless has been polished. This Camaro features custom manufactured special badges front and rear indicating the ZL1 option and are historically correct to GM's original late 1969 test mule of the era. Other options GM chose for the ZL1 show cars were vinyl tops and trimmed wheels as shown on this vehicle. The engine is unquestionably all aluminum motor #16 thanks to GM documentation that goes with the car. The engine bay is beautifully detailed and correct in every way from the cowl induction to the Winters intake. The accessories are correct including the large diameter deep groove pulley and some of the nicest exhaust manifolds you will likely find. Detailing is exemplary with correct stamps, markings hoses and clamps. Power runs thru the correct M22 Rock Crusher transmission, 12-bolt posi in a 4.10 gear configuration and a very aggressive race inspired chambered exhaust. Look underneath, it is truly breathtaking. Correct Goodyear G70 polyglas tires complete the exterior. The black interior is brand new and features a few additional options that once again were shown on the GM ZL1 historical test mules. This includes the console with auxillary gauges and trim. Every component in the dash, including the gauges, vents, controls and AM radio has been rebuilt. New seats, carpet, headliner, door panels, seat belts, etc are complete, correct and functional to form one of the most beautiful passenger compartments you will probably every see. The trunk is correct with a matching spare tire and jack.
