Description
Lot #638 - A beautiful blend of Southern California car and surf culture, this hand painted 1963 220 American Rambler comes from the estate of Mike Marshall by way of the Surfing Heritage Foundation. Mike and his car were both well-known fixtures of the local surf community. This 2-door hardtop includes a flathead V6 with disc brakes and a dual master cylinder. Hand painted and pinstriped by renowned artist Jimmy "C" of Jimmy C Kustoms, this car pays homage to Von Dutch and Big Daddy Ed Roth in its detailed paint job. Southern California car and surf enthusiasts may recognize this car, as it has attended a number of local club and car events. Complete with hard-to-find original "aloha" surf racks, this car includes a vintage surfboard from the archives of the Surfing Heritage Museum in San Clemente, California. A well-known and respected local surfer, surfboard shaper and surf historian, Mike Marshall was the "real deal" in Southern California surfing and surf culture and this was his car.
