Description
Lot #631 - Built in 1994 by custom car guru and Bonneville top speed record holder Ermie Immerso, this 1991 Ford Mustang is like nothing you've ever seen before. Originally a Bonneville speed flat racer, Immerso initially earned his spot in history by setting several land speed records. Later, he would open Thunderbird Products and build championship show cars. In 1991, Immerso won first place at a car show and was rewarded with this 1991 Ford Mustang GT convertible in its stock form. I purchased this car from his estate auction and have enjoyed it every since. The engine is a DOHC 4.6L V8 from a Lincoln MK VIII and transmission is a 4R70W. All underpinnings of the car where either custom made or modified to accommodate the swap. The car also features SVO Cobra brakes, 13" front and 11.65" rear, hand built lowered suspension and custom exhaust. The one-off Carson removable top and Tuck 'N Roll interior were also hand fabricated by Ermie Immerso and staff. On the exterior, the car features shaved door handles, factory GT body kit, custom LED 3rd brake light and 17" custom modified Antera 3-spoke wheels. The hood contains a custom painted mural of a horse whose mane flows into Dennis Ricklefs' custom painted tribal flames that travel down the fenders to the end of the door. Currently titled and registered in California, the car was issued new door tags at an official referee station and is recognized by the state to have the new drivetrain. It passes all emissions tests and is ready to be driven anywhere. The car was featured in a 1997 issue of Mustang Illustrated and has won several local car show awards.
