More than just mechanics will recognize the white van with red letters. This 1951 International Metro walk-in display van is a restored re-creation of Snap-On’s rolling retail store frozen in time.
The exterior of this time machine features hand-painted lettering. Once you step inside the van, you are greeted by its maple hardwood floor adorned with painted logos that have been used throughout the years. The custom cabinets take you back to the 50s with linoleum countertops and a backboard display.
Throughout the van are period-correct vintage tools and equipment, including a vintage transmission tools display board and its 1959 Anal-O-Scope – a type of oscilloscope for automobiles used to measure electrical volts.
Power comes from the original 2200cc Silver Diamond engine hooked to a 4-speed manual transmission. The van features front hubs and a rear end from a Chevrolet pickup.
This Snap-On Tools Metro has won several First-In-Class awards, and it was on display in an automotive museum for several months.
This retro-mobile is offered with No Reserve at the 2022 Las Vegas Auction, June 30 to July 2, in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
