Lot #382 – 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Edition – Sold! $286,000

The auction arena was buzzing with excitement throughout the day on Friday, April 14, at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction, with the crowd erupting into cheers on several occasions as several highly anticipated vehicles had their turn on the block and over a dozen auction world records were set.

In a diverse offering that ranged from modern Mustangs and Camaros to classic pickup trucks and custom sedans with fabulous fins, more than 200 vehicles made their way across the Barrett-Jackson block on Friday. A 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Tribute Edition (Lot #382) headed off on its next adventure for a winning bid of $286,000, making it the day’s top seller.

Other top sales of the day included a 2003 Hummer H1 Pickup (Lot #405), which crossed the block for $170,500; a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 327/340 Convertible (Lot #413) selling for $165,000 and a 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor Replica (Lot #397.1) for $150,700. A 1965 Chevrolet Corvette 327/375 Fuelie Convertible (Lot #425) rounded out the top five with its $137,500 sale.

An early 1960s Gulf Oil porcelain with animated neon sign (Lot #7299) sold for $21,850, making it the day’s top seller during the morning’s Automobilia Auction. The exciting sale was followed by a superlative 1950 Champion Midget Racer coin-operated kiddie ride (Lot #7269) and a 1928 Richfield Oil Wayne Model #615 visible gas pump (Lot #7276), each selling for $20,700. A 1930s Ford Automobiles neon porcelain sign (Lot #7296) and a 1950s Red Owl Grocery Stores porcelain with neon sign (Lot #7298.1) also caught bidders’ eyes, selling for $18,400 and $16,675 respectively.

The collector cars weren’t the only stars in attendance today. Congressman Brian Mast, a Purple Heart recipient and U.S. representative for Florida’s 21st congressional district, checked out the cars on and off the block, as did Chip Foose, a master automobile designer known for his reality television series “Overhaulin’.” Actor and boxer Chuck Zito stopped by the 2023 Palm Beach Auction with John Staluppi, automotive aficionado and a longtime friend of Barrett-Jackson.

Of course, there’s also much to do and see outside of the auction arena, including the Summit Showcase, a new addition to the Palm Beach Auction, which features several aftermarket companies offering automotive products. Those who place orders with these companies – as well as anything on the Summit Racing website – during the event receive 10% off the order plus free shipping.

Billy’s Tequila Music Stage kept guests entertained throughout the day with live music from country music band Whisky Six. Attendees were also able to browse the nearby South Showcase to see many of the cars that will have their turn on the auction block tomorrow for Super Saturday.
