2023 PALM BEACH AUCTION – 1966 CHEVROLET CHEVY II NOVA SS CUSTOM COUPE “NOVAKILL” – NO RESERVE

The beautiful thing about cars is the many personas they can embody. If you want your vehicle to convey assertive and aggressive, it can be modified and built to be just that, much like this eye-catching 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS custom coupe named “Novakill.” Built with a Pro-Touring focus, this car looks like it is going in for the kill on any track with its sleek lines and Soul Red Crystal metallic paint. Getting behind the wheel is sure to be a thrill.

266830_EngineThis Chevy II has the bite to match its bark. Under the hood is a Chevrolet Performance supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 crate engine rated with 650 horsepower. The sinister engine comes with custom-engraved valve covers, Billet Specialties Tru-Trac serpentine system and a cold-air intake. The boisterous engine is mated to an 8L90E 8-speed automatic transmission connected to a DSE Ford 9-inch rear end packing a GearFX N-Series center section with 3.70 gears spinning 31-spline axles. Spent gases flow through a set of modified factory stainless headers to a custom 3-inch polished stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers to give it an ultra-aggressive growl.

To make this car a true track killer, it received a Detroit Speed front subframe equipped with power rack & pinion steering, allowing for easy maneuvering. The front subframe also comes with TIG-welded tubular upper and lower control arms, giving the Chevy II an agile feel, along with spindles and an integrated splined sway bar to prevent body roll as much as possible, instilling confidence in its driver. While aggressive, “Novakill” is also adjustable and able to be customized to its driver’s needs thanks to the Detroit Speed QUADRALink system with Swivel-Link technology, adjustable Panhard bar at the rear and adjustable DSE/JRi coilover shocks on all four corners.

Stopping power is provided by a Wilwood dual master cylinder, front 13-inch Superlite 6R drilled and slotted rotors with 6-piston forged calipers, and 14-inch Superlite 4R rears with drilled and slotted rotors and 4-piston forged calipers.

To create the aggressive stance of the car, the body was taken down to bare metal, each panel professionally body-worked and sprayed in Diamont’s Soul Red Crystal metallic paint. Additional body modifications include deleted cowl vents and a cowl-induction hood with vented steel louvers. Achieving the clean look of the profile was accomplished by eliminating the front vent windows and giving the Chevy II one-piece side glass.

Inside the custom interior, the driver is treated to a smoothed dash with Dakota Digital HDX instrumentation. The driver controls the vehicle with a Billet Specialties Formula 14 D-shaped steering wheel atop an Ididit column when positioned in the TMI Pro-Series Power Sport-LR Grand bucket seats featuring black suede and vinyl. Other highlights include a custom console and side panels accented by a black suede headliner and black carpet.

interiorWhile this killer Chevy II Nova appears to be all business on the exterior, the interior keeps the driver comfortable with many creature comforts and upgrades, including a Vintage Air system for heating and cooling, a Bluetooth Pioneer audio system with touchscreen, push-button start and power windows.

This custom 1966 Chevy II Nova SS completed its rotisserie restoration in January 2023 and has 100 test miles. The sale includes a photo book and build binder with receipts, manuals and spec sheets.
