SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.  Jan. 3, 2020 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will roll out the red-carpet when celebrity-owned collector vehicles cross the block during the 49th Annual Scottsdale Auction, January 11-19, 2020. From Hollywood actors and business tycoons to a best-selling author and rock-and-roll legend, the Scottsdale Auction will give guests the chance to bid on a vehicle owned by world-famous stars.

Owned by record producer, talent scout and judge on TV’s “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent,” two vehicles owned by Simon Cowell will cross the block in Scottsdale. Lot #1301.2 is a beautiful, triple-black 2009 Bentley Azure Convertible that has only 1,759 actual miles. Also being auctioned from Cowell’s personal collection is this triple-black 1977 Ford Bronco custom SUV (Lot #1025.3), which is powered by a Ford small-block V8 engine with an automatic transmission.

The drummer in the rock band Blink-182, Travis Barker, is selling three vehicles from his personal collection, including a 1960 Cadillac Coupe de Ville Custom Hardtop (Lot #791.2). This custom Caddy features a chopped roof, shaved door handles and is powered by a 454ci V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission. Lot #791.1 is Barker’s custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer that features a new LS3 V8 engine and an automatic transmission with only 1,962 miles since its restoration. Lot #791 is a highly original 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe convertible powered by its original 5.7-liter V8 engine. This Series 62 features the original red leather interior, red carpeting and Lancaster Gray paint.

GRATEFUL DEAD'S 1949 STUDEBAKER M5 TRUCK 4mp

This is the historic Grateful Dead equipment truck, once owned by Owsley Stanley. Known as “The Dred,” it has an important narrative of counterculture rock music heritage. It’s powered by an 8-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission.

“These star-powered collector vehicles that will cross the block in Scottsdale are as diverse as the celebrities themselves,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “From fantastically customized hot rods to the Grateful Dead’s original 1949 Studebaker M5 equipment truck (Lot #1619), these celebrity affiliated vehicles become a part of the pop culture themselves, making them desirable collector items to the die-hard fans and a great conversation piece.

Former Denver Broncos quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion John Elway will auction his 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster (Lot #1025). One of only 250 Dodge Vipers made in 1992, this supercar has only 7,935 actual miles. Former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera’s 2020 Toyota Supra (Lot #1076) will also cross the block in Scottsdale. Number 42 of 1,500 Launch Edition Supras produced, this model was made specifically for the MLB Hall of Famer and has only 16 actual miles.
