In fact, some of the most desirable vehicles in the world are also some of the most recent. Sure, there will be a huge selection of classics, customs, Resto-Mods muscle cars and much more to choose from at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, March 20-27. That’s a given. But sprinkled among the choice vintage offerings are some remarkable newer vehicles, including Lot #1387, an Aston Martin “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” DBS Superleggera special edition, offered with No Reserve.

Lot 1387 - 2020 ASTON MARTIN DBS SUPERLEGGERA JAMES BOND SPECIAL EDITION_detail1This car celebrates the sixth James Bond film, which was released in 1969, and is the latest in a series of Bond tribute cars manufactured by the legendary British sports car maker. To coincide with the film’s 50th anniversary and to maintain exclusivity, Aston Martin built a mere 50 examples of the OHMSS DBS special editions. This one is brand-new with only 54 miles logged. The current owner has never driven it.

All Aston Martins are special, but the OHMSS DBS has a number of unique features that set it apart from regular-production DBS models.

Lot 1387 - 2020 ASTON MARTIN DBS SUPERLEGGERA JAMES BOND SPECIAL EDITION_rear34First and most notable is the Olive Green paint, the same hue as found on the original On Her Majesty’s Secret Service DBS movie car from 1969. The roof and roof strakes are finished in the body color instead of the contrasting finish typically found on the DBS.

Other unique exterior features include a carbon-fiber splitter aero blade, along with unique diamond turned and forged wheels. At the front of the car is a bespoke metal grille with six bright horizontal vanes, created to replicate the distinctive feature of original 1969 movie car.

The gorgeous black leather interior is trimmed with gray-blend Alcantara, as found in the 1969 version. Another nod to the film is found in the red interior accents, which pay stylistic homage to the red-trimmed glove box that held Bond’s telescopic-sight rifle in the movie.

In addition, there is an embroidered patch with the 007 logo and the words “OHMSS Edition.” The door sills also carry similar identification. This car also comes with the highly desirable and optional drink case designed to fit perfectly in the luggage compartment. The elegant black drink case holds two bottles of champagne and four champagne flutes.

Lot 1387 - 2020 ASTON MARTIN DBS SUPERLEGGERA JAMES BOND SPECIAL EDITION_EngineUnder the hood, there is a more-than-adequate supply of power, thanks to Aston Martin’s 5.2-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which produces an impressive 715 horsepower. The combination of Aston Martin’s precise engine tuning, active valves and four tailpipes assures that a powerful sound resonates as the driver motors down the road. All that power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Elegant, refined and powerful, the Aston Martin On Her Majesty’s Secret Service DBS Superleggera special edition is the epitome of what a state-of-the-art modern British sports car should look, feel and drive like. And its limited production of just 50 examples ensures its rarity and collectibility. If you missed your chance to get one of these “brutes in a suit” the first time, now’s your opportunity to take this amazing Aston Martin home.
